Toshiba C55-A5300 Unboxing

This is an unboxing of Toshiba's C55-A5300 laptop. This is oriented at being a budget-friendly computer and from what I've read, has very good reviews.

It features:
Intel Dual-Core Celeron Processor @ 1.8GHz
4GB of DDR3 memory
500GB HDD
15.6" 1366x768 display
Intel HD Graphics
Single-band 802.11b/g/n wifi
Windows 8 Standard

The HP (Pavilion) 14 Chromebook

This is a look at HP's Pavilion 14 Chromebook.

It features:
Dual-Core Intel Celeron Processor @ 1.1GHz
4GB of DDR3 memory
16GB SSD
Dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n wi-fi & Bluetooth 3.0
14" 1366x768 display
Chrome OS

For a Chromebook, the main selling point is the 14" display. Otherwise it's hardware is very similar to that of the Acer C7 Chromebook except this has Bluetooth. The issue people might encounter with it is the keyboard feedback.

Get free apps and other goodies with FreeMyApps (Android & iOS)

Link: http://goo.gl/Os4LxG (Must be using iOS or Android)

With FreeMyApps, you can try out new apps on your Android or iOS device (usually right when they're released from developers) for a certain period of time and be rewarded with points you can trade for gift cards and other items. Whether you like the app or don't want to keep it, you'll still be rewarded with points.

Some notes: If an app appears in the selection that you already used or have used in the past you cannot redeem points with it. Also there will be times where you try out an app and you don't get the points. It happens on occasion, but the list is refreshed almost weekly, so you can find another app to try instead that might work.

I've used this for over a year and I've gotten paid apps without having to spend anything and even gotten Amazon gift cards to use on purchases on their site.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M92P Tower PC

I show the Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p Tower desktop PC.

The specifications of this model include:
3rd generation Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz CPU
4GB DDR3 RAM (upgraded to 8GB)
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD7450 1GB PCI-e graphics card
DVD-RW drive
Realtek HD AUdio
WIndows 9 Professional x64

No wifi or bluetooth is included, but it does feature legacy ports like DB-9 serial, PCI slots and also has a TPM (trusted platform module) and other special options.

I also add an eSATA port to the PC later on.

Dot-Matrix Printers and Repair

Here I show how dot-matrix printers work and I also repair one I end up breaking.
The printer I show is an Epson ActionPrinter 5000+ ESC/P2 QUIET.

Dot-Matrix printers use a series of pins in the printhead and moves along a ribbon saturated with ink. These pins push against the ink ribbon and the paper to produce an image.

In this video, I end up jamming the printhead gearing system with the ribbon (as the ribbon cartridge was damaged) and I repair it.

Chromebooks and Chrome OS

Here I'm using the Acer C710-2847 to talk about Google's Chrome operating system and the affordable cloud-oriented computers that go with it.

Your typical chromebook uses the following hardware:
1.2GHz Celeron dual-core processors
2-4GB of DDR3 RAM
16GB SSD or a 320GB HDD
11-14" display
802.11/a/b/g/n dual-band wifi
bluetooth

Chrome OS is primarily a cloud-based system that uses storage and resources that reside on the Internet. CHromebooks act as an affordable hub to access those resources.

MoKo Smart-shell Case for 2013 Nexus 7

Buy this same case now on Amazon: http://goo.gl/slQwrg
This is a small video about MoKo's Smart-shell case made for the new 2013 Nexus 7. It works similar to Apple's Smart cases for the iPad. Opening and closing the cover wakes/sleep the device. Magnetic snaps hold the cover closed and also act as the point for waking/sleeping. Cutouts are made for the rear camera and all controls. It can be tri-folded to work as a stand or to lay it down for typing. The typical price point is around $12.

AmazonBasics Portable Speaker Unboxing

Available here: http://goo.gl/RSv9u

I unbox and take a look at the AmazonBasics Portable Speaker. It can be bought for a mere $7 from them. It features a 3.5mm headset jack for input and can be powered via either 4 AA batteries or a USB connection. A dedicated on/off switch and rotary volume control are on the top. Sound is fairly decent for this little thing. So if you want to have sound (albeit perhaps not quality-wise) this is a pretty good deal.

Hipe Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Shower Speaker & Handsfree Speakerphone

Available here at Amazon: http://goo.gl/clpw1 (Black) | http://goo.gl/Fot6G (White)

There isn't much about this little Bluetooth shower speaker on the net despite several units sold on Amazon. Anyway, this thing is meant to hang from your shower head and provide you the ability to listen to audio streaming over Bluetooth from your Bluetooth-enabled device. It will also function as a handsfree speakerphone if you wanted  it to. It charges via mini-USB at the rear and features a full size USB port for charging small devices. The front control houses the controls for playback, volume and voice calling. It comes in either white or black colors. Hipe is sold through dbroth (http://dbroth.com)
